My Coach Approach
As a professional nanny and a child care giver for over 39 years, I have learned to love and care for babies and nurture the growth and development of newborns, infants and toddlers. I have always had the gift of empathy and being able to see things thru the eyes of a child. I’m blessed with the innate ability to emotionally put myself in their “shoes” and get down on their level.
I genuinely feel & understand their perspective and I experience their precious point of view.
After spending so much quality one-on-one time with toddlers and enjoying this process for so many years (decades!)
I have learned the ability to think like a toddler. What goes on in their mind. What their fears are, their joys and their wonderment when exploring and discovering new things as well as their hesitation to try new things. I’ve learned to see why they do the things they do and why they think the way they think.
My approach is gentle, non-aggressive, yet persuasive.
I’ve been called “The Baby Whisperer” my entire life, even as a young babysitter back in the 1970’s. I regard that as the highest compliment. I take my work with children very seriously because I know the impact we have on them and their impressionable minds. By being their role models we teach them things without even trying to - sometimes without even knowing we’re doing so!
This is how I have modeled my approach to helping 100’s, possibly even 1000’s of toddlers learn the very important life skill of toileting! Potty training is exactly that - it is training. They need to be taught and trained. Toileting is not innate. It isn’t automatic. We are not born with it.
Toddlers need our guidance, support and a lot of cheering on! Coaching!
My coach approach is simply that! I help coach and guide you thru all the steps necessary to help your toddler understand how to use the potty. My approach is gentle, non-aggressive, yet persuasive. I allow the process to happen in their time and on their terms. I always recommend encouraging your child with positive reinforcement and praise! No scolding, no yelling, no punishments. We always want to help our toddler build positive associations with toileting.
I’ve done this a kazillion times. I can help you thru this!
I’m happy to be your very own, personal potty training COACH!
